About the Opportunity:


Under the supervision of the Senior Associate Director of Admissions Programming, the Associate Director of Admissions for Student Engagement oversees our student employees in the Visitor Center. The Associate Director will manage the Husky Ambassadors, a paid group of students responsible for giving campus tours, as well as other student employees who assist in operational support of the Visitor Center, including co-ops. Working in collaboration with the Associate Director for Visitor Services, the Associate Director for Student Engagement will ensure sufficient student coverage for Visitor Center programs. Additionally, the Associate Director will collaborate with other colleagues in the Admissions Office to coordinate student presence at other programs and events, including Welcome Days and for virtual programs. As a senior member of the office programming team, the Associate Director will also be expected to take an active role in collaborating and managing the day-to-day visitor needs of the office along with other staff. Additionally, the Associate Director will serve as a representative of Northeastern University, giving presentations and traveling as a territory manager, along with reviewing applications. The Associate Director of Admissions for Student Engagement will serve as an active member of the unit’s management team and other internal and external teams as required. S/he will oversee a portion of the Admissions budget allocated to student engagement. Some evening and weekend hours and occasional travel are required.

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and at least five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in college admission. Masters preferred.
• Strong supervisory, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• A thorough understanding of the college search and visit experience
• Experience working with diverse populations
• Demonstrated understanding of admissions technical systems.
• Must be highly organized and detail oriented, programming experience preferred
• Knowledge of higher education issues related to recruitment, admission and enrollment of students.
• Prior experience and expertise in student engagement and management.
