About the Opportunity:

The Department of Communication Studies in the College of Arts, Media and Design at Northeastern University invites applications for full-time Teaching Professors to support and expand our curriculum in Communication and Media and Screen Studies. We seek candidates from diverse theoretical, methodological, and applied backgrounds who can lead courses across our curriculum.

Priority areas include Advertising, Analytics, Communication Ethics, Communication and Identity, Critical Media Studies, Health Communication, Media Production (studio or field), New Media Communication, Public Speaking, Quantitative Research Methods, Rhetoric, Social Change Communication, and/or Sports Communication. Appointments will be made at the Assistant, Associate, or Full teaching professor levels, commensurate with experience. In addition to teaching, faculty are expected to contribute to the life and function of the Department through service and to maintain active portfolios of research and/or creative work in their areas of expertise.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a terminal degree (typically, a PhD or MFA) in Communication, Media Studies, or related field and prior experience teaching at the college level.
