About the Opportunity:

The Department of Biology at Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts invites applications from qualified candidates for multiple full-time, non-tenure track faculty positions (Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor, with rank determined by qualifications of the successful applicant) with significant opportunity for career advancement.  The Department of Biology is strongly interdisciplinary and administers programs in the College of Science at Northeastern University in Biology, Cell and Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and Behavioral Neuroscience for more than 1,200 undergraduates. Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of this position are to teach multiple sections of courses for undergraduates, which may include Introductory Biology, Genetics and Molecular Biology, Integrated Anatomy and Physiology, Biology Capstone, or a freshman course called Inquiries in Biological Sciences. Additional duties may involve coordination with other instructors, organization of laboratory curricula, and additional teaching and course development.

Qualifications:

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in the biological sciences or a closely related discipline by the appointment start date, and demonstrate excellence in the following: teaching undergraduate lecture courses, communication, collaboration and leadership. Preferred Qualifications:

Excellence in teaching either Introductory Biology, Genetics, Anatomy and Physiology, first-year seminar,or senior capstone is preferred, but not required.

How would you expect to apply what you learned from this situation as a faculty member in the College of Science? We are interested in how you handled and learned from a past situation, not the identities of the people involved, so please only disclose what you are comfortable with.
