About the Opportunity:

Northeastern University—San Francisco is hiring Operations Assistants at its campus location within WeWork in the Financial District (600 California Street).

Operations Assistants provide quality reception coverage, office operations support, and ensure that students and faculty on campus are appropriately set up to conduct in-person classes. They provide welcoming and prompt service to a variety of Northeastern’s community members, prospective students, and on-campus event attendees.

These are part-time/temporary positions at $19 an hour. The duration is six months, however, there are likely opportunities for employment extension.

The evening operations assistant will work weekdays from 4:30 pm - 9:30 pm, and must willing to commit to at least 2 Friday shifts per month. The daytime operations assistant will work from 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm, Tuesday – Friday. Additional hours may be requested to help support special events. Individuals with flexible schedules are strongly encouraged to apply.

The position is held on site (not eligible for remote work) and reports to the Assistant Director of Development and Operations. All Northeastern employees are required to follow COVID-19 protocols, which includes weekly COVID-19 testing. COVID-19 tests are self-administered, free, and available on site.

Responsibilities:

Operations Assistants will be responsible for supporting campus operations, including:

● Staffing the campus for class sessions outside of standard business hours and acting as the first point of contact for a variety of stakeholders

● Providing customer service to students and professors, which may include troubleshooting technical issues and assisting with classroom technology

● Handling classroom setup, breakdown, and reconfiguration as needed

● Following university and facility health and safety procedures

● Acting as a liaison to authorized visitors such as students and employees from other locations, business partners, and prospective learners

● Completing general office duties such as organizing files, inventories, supplies, and equipment, and maintaining the campus areas in a clean, sanitized, and stocked manner

● Administrative projects as assigned

Qualifications:

Candidates should have a minimum of two years of office or administrative coordination experience. Experience or interest in higher education is a strong plus. They must enjoy working with diverse populations, and be comfortable working independently, maintaining confidential information, and carrying out on-site health and safety procedures.

Successful candidates will have outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills, and at least

intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace. Must be able to learn quickly in a technical environment, effectively use Zoom and Microsoft Teams, and operate video conferencing equipment, printers, copiers, and computers. Flexibility, a positive attitude, and commitment to excellence are vital.
