Responsibilities:

 

Clinical Pharmacology

Pharmacy Postdoctoral Fellow – Clinical Pharmacology Post-Doctoral PharmD Fellowship with Vertex Pharmaceuticals & Northeastern University (2 Years)

Northeastern University's School of Pharmacy and Vertex Pharmaceuticals will be partnering to offer a two-year Doctor of Pharmacy Clinical Pharmacology Fellowship Program at Vertex in Boston, MA starting July 2020. The Clinical Pharmacology Department, a division of Translational Medicine, provides pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic expertise at all stages of drug development. The Clinical Pharmacology Fellow will learn various aspects of a clinical pharmacologist’s role, ranging from operational support to rigorous scientific contributions. In addition, the fellow will have the opportunity to interact with other groups at Vertex, allowing for a broader understanding of drug development.

 

Key Experiences During Program

Training on standard software utilized in Clinical Pharmacology

Conducting non-compartmental pharmacokinetic analyses

Analyzing and interpreting clinical trial results

Contributing to clinical study protocols

Providing clinical trial operations support

Generating clinical pharmacology sections of clinical study reports

Participating in clinical pharmacology strategy planning

Leading a clinical pharmacology focused research project

Learning about other functions within Global Medicines Development & Affairs (GMDA) through rotational experiences

 

 

Qualifications:

Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited institution, eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Massachusetts.

Understanding of basic pharmacokinetic concepts

Strong academic record

Clinical research experience

Industry and/or regulatory experience

Publication record

 


Preferred Qualifications:

 Excellent oral and written communication, time management, and leadership skills, ability to work independently and take initiative on a variety of projects at Vertex and Northeastern.

Strong interest in pursuing a career at Vertex

Strong verbal, written communication, interpersonal, listening, and organizational skills

Ability to work in a diverse environment

Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a matrix organization

Sense of urgency and perseverance to achieve results

Unquestionable ethics, and professional integrity
