About the Opportunity:

The Roux Institute seeks an energetic, self-starter to serve a growing population of graduate students in a dynamic and fast pasted new educational organization. The Academic Advisor will support all graduate program administrative activities including advising students on academic and curriculum/registration matters; serve as liaison between the Roux Institute, the Colleges, and all University offices that handle matters pertaining to graduate students.

Responsibilities:

Maintain the graduate student database utilizing Salesforces, Banner, and the Argos systems. Prepare reports and analyses for Academic Operations. Provide a high level of student service to diverse learners from a variety of different pathways: recent college graduates as well as early/mid career learners who are seeking additional competencies to support their work, including corporate learners and international students. Assist the Director of Learner Services in facilitating holistic student development and engagement opportunities.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. 2-3 years of experience required, preferably in a higher education setting. Ideal candidate will have excellent communication, interpersonal, student development and counseling skills. Proven ability to multi-task independently and collaboratively across a complex organization in a fast-paced work environment. The candidate must (1) have strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint; (2) be able to exercise sharp critical thinking skills and sound judgement; (3) be detail oriented and have strong prioritization, time management, and follow-through skills; (4) have demonstrated sensitivity to the needs and concerns of a diverse student population.
