About the Opportunity:

Bioengineering faculty member Dr. Mona Minkara is seeking a full-time technical writing access assistant (TWAA). The TWAA will assist in revising, planning, and coordinating Dr. Minkara’s publications, grant proposals, and presentations. The main focus of the TWAA is to help Dr. Minkara’s writing process run smoothly so that she can research without hindrance. 

Responsibilities:

The TWAA will edit and proofread all technical writing, maintain/organize references for publications, review relevant literature, format documents, create presentations/posters, and assist with other miscellaneous written works. The TWAA will ensure all writing is consistent with Dr. Minkara's previous works. The TWAA will also help ensure all materials and documents are accessible.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing or a scientific discipline required. Strong writing and organizational capabilities and excellent Microsoft Office skills required. Must be flexible, detail-oriented, work well in a team, and in a fast-paced environment. Must be willing to pitch in as needed on a variety of tasks. An in-depth knowledge of English grammar and unusual scientific writing styles and reference formats, such as ACS, APA, and Chicago, also required. Experience in technical proposal writing strongly desired. Experience with LaTEX and Adobe Creative Suite desired.
