About the Opportunity:

The College of Engineering’s Undergraduate Academic Advising Office is seeking three successful candidates to join their team as Academic Advisors.


The mission of the Academic Advisor includes advising and assisting students with all aspects of the course planning and registration process, teaching an introduction to college first year student seminar, monitoring academic progress, working with students experiencing academic difficulty, and assisting with new student orientation sessions. The Academic Advisor also serves as the departmental liaison and advisor to upper class students, advising transfer students, reviews records for completion of degree requirements, and provides interpretation and explanation of college and university degree policies and procedures and provides support for enrollment and retention initiatives as set forth by college leadership.



Master's degree in Higher Education, or related field required. Two to five years of experience required; previous experience in higher education recommended. Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills are required. Must be able to work well as a team member with a variety of constituencies, work independently and take initiative; attention to detail is imperative. Teaching experience strongly preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, and registration/advising support tools such as BANNER, Salesforce, and Degree Audit programs preferred.
