About the Opportunity:

Do you have a desire to help with the creation of customized learning products that focuses on the user experience and addresses the unique needs of various audiences?

If so, Northeastern University has an opening for a Content Development Specialist. This position will work collaboratively as a member of the Online Experiential Learning (OEL) team and a floating member of a product team which includes a Senior Learning Experience Designer (Sr LxD), a Learning Experience Designer (LxD), a Project Manager, a Product Manager, and a Multimedia Specialist to create quality learning products to fulfill the distinct mission and core values of Northeastern University.

Responsibilities:

In collaboration with the product team, the Content Development Specialist will implement the product design laid out in blueprints created by Sr LxD, LxD, as well as Multimedia specialists in the identified Learning Management System. They will ensure the course structure meets the guidelines outlined at the start of every project.

In addition, this position will offer support to faculty and programs through the management of portfolios, prepping courses before the start of each term, and carrying out basic quality assurance reviews. The Course Development Specialist with work with the OEL Content Architect to incorporate new technologies into the identified LMS and support the Content Architect with training team members and faculty on the use and maintenance of all new technologies.

This is an entry level, 100% remote position with room for learning and growth.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, English, Education, Ed Tech, or a related field.

2 - 5 years of experience with Salesforce and Wordpress.

An ability to learn new technology quickly.

Comfort with HTML and CSS.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to collaborate across networks and work effectively in virtual teams. Ability to converse with faculty about educational and technology issues.

Access to high speed internet.

Ability to be flexible and creative when faced with competing priorities.

Experience with one or more learning management systems as well as common software used in the design and development of distance learning courses. Ability to troubleshoot basic educational technology issues.

Should possess a passion for continued professional development in the areas of instructional design, learning experience design, curriculum development, educational technology, teaching and learning, etc.
