About the Opportunity:



Khoury College of Computer Sciences is seeking a Student Services Specialist who will play a vital role in coordination and support of Undergraduate Programs. The Student Services Specialist will report to the Associate Director of Undergraduate Programs. This role provides advanced administrative support to the Associate Director. This newly developed capacity will be an integral partner to the Associate Director of Undergraduate Programs, Assistant Director of Student Services, Student Employment Assistant, and the Associate Dean of Students.

This key position will be asked to multi-task and handle sensitive situations in a calm, thoughtful and professional manner. The position will work closely with other staff members and faculty in the department by assisting with special projects and other administrative support as needed. The Student Services Specialist will assist the Associate Director in the day to day operations of the undergraduate program with respect to all programs including but not limited to coordinating course scheduling, rooms assignments, rollover sheets, the undergraduate catalog, etc. They will respond to perspective students (email/phone calls/drop-ins, point of contact for website) and coordinate current student communications; and help with college events such as Welcome Days, student orientation programs, student group coordination, and special events for current and prospective students.

The successful candidate will be a team player, working closely across the College to ensure proactive, consistency, and accuracy in all engagements. They will have a strong work ethic, strive to meet goals, and contribute positively to a collegial and collaborative work culture.

This role will manage the Teaching Assistant (TA) life cycle.
• Management of the overall TA work schedule
• Onset of each semester, email students, manage application process
• Facilitate communication with Faculty and support the TA review process
• Assignment of all TA’s
• Manage hiring process in partnership with the Student Employment Assistant
• Manage and lead trainings for the TA’s
• Audit of TA hours

Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred. Four to six years of experience in higher education required. Excellent interpersonal, oral presentation, and written communication skills and experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook. Strong organizational and critical thinking skills. Strong project management/organizational skills with attention to fine detail, commitment to quality. Ability to balance multiple demands from demanding constituencies. Must be able to consistently produce high quality work under tight deadlines.
Must demonstrate a professional presence and maturity in dealing with a variety of audiences, external and internal to the university. Must have a positive can-do attitude, flexibility, initiative, and ability to function effectively as member of a team in a dynamic and exciting work environment. Responsive to feedback and committed to continuous improvement, and high integrity.
