Responsibilities:

The Associate Director of Graduate Admissions is a member of the Recruiting and Admissions Team, reporting to the Assistant Dean and Director of Graduate Recruitment and Admissions. The Associate Director has primary responsibility for the admissions pipeline process and activities (driving inquiries to application) for programs in the Graduate School of Business Administration (GSBA) including the Part-Time MBA, MS Finance/MBA, and Graduate Certificate programs and assists in the recruitment, admissions and enrollment of students for the Full-time MBA, JD/MBA, MS Finance/MBA, LLM/MBA and Specialty Masters programs. The Associate Director is responsible for creating the pipeline activity schedule and executing pipeline support activities that include regular communication with inquiry/lead populations, on- and off-campus as well as online events, responding to specific inquiries and conducting interviews.

The Associate Director of Graduate Admissions reviews all applications and makes recommendations for admission to the Admissions Committee. The Associate Director communicates all decisions to applicants including wait list status and scholarship decisions. The Associate Director tracks decisions, updates applicant records, and manages yield activities.

In addition, the Associate Director of Graduate Admissions is active in recruiting activities throughout the year both locally and in those requiring travel which may include: corporate on-site visits and information sessions; MBA/MS fairs and forums, university events; on-campus general and program-specific information sessions.

 

The Associate Director supervises the International Recruitment Manager and graduate assistants.

The local MBA program market is extremely competitive. Aggressive and consistent admissions efforts are essential to increase the quantity and quality of admitted students. Generating lots of interest and leads is meaningless without consistent follow-through and moving applicants through the pipeline to application. In addition, DMSB is committed to raising visibility by improving its position in the business school rankings. The Associate Director of Graduate Admissions’ efforts will be critical in this regard

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred or graduate degree in higher education administration. At least five years’ experience with preference given to candidates who have experience in MBA admission and recruiting. Candidates must demonstrate a professional presence and maturity in dealing with a variety of audiences, external and internal to the university. Excellent interpersonal, oral presentation, and written communication skills are critical for success. Expertise in word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and database management packages. Strong project management/organizational skills with attention to detail, commitment to quality, and ability to balance multiple demands from demanding constituencies. Creativity, positive can-do attitude, flexibility, initiative, and ability to function effectively as member of a team. Responsive to feedback and committed to continuous improvement. Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally and work evenings and weekends as required.
