About the Opportunity:

Northeastern University’s Bouvé College of Health Sciences, Department of Health Sciences, is seeking one full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor of Global Health to join our faculty. The successful candidate will join an inter-professional, multi-disciplinary faculty committed to excellence in both teaching and research, in public health and health sciences more broadly. We seek individuals who specialize in global public health. Some examples of possible specialty areas include global disease surveillance, climate change, global health policy and area-based studies.

 

 

Responsibilities:

In addition to strong interest in Global Health from students in the Health Sciences major and each of the graduate programs, students from other colleges and departments minor in Global Health and choose Global Health capstone or PhD dissertation topics that utilize data from around the world. The undergraduate and graduate curricula include courses in global health at all levels and include global perspectives on many public health and health care issues within courses.

Qualifications:

 Applicants must have a doctoral degree (PhD, ScD, DrPH, MD or equivalent) in a field relevant to health sciences. Candidates with strong methodological and analytic skills useful in solving complex global health problems are encouraged to apply.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach both undergraduate and graduate students, serve on departmental and university committees, and mentor students, including guiding capstone projects and dissertation research. Teaching faculty are expected to engage in curriculum development and assessment; classroom and, potentially, online teaching. Additionally, engagement in scholarship and/or research is encouraged. Applicants should have a demonstrated history of innovation and excellence in teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels. Salary will be commensurate with education, training, and background; compensation will include an outstanding benefits package. Starting date for this position is August, 2020.

Bouvé College of Health Sciences has over 200 faculty members, with approximately 2,000 undergraduate and 2,400 graduate students.
