About the Opportunity:

The Associate Director for Technical Support will report to the Senior Director of Technology & Operations. The Associate Director for Technical Support will manage hardware and software support within Student Affairs. The associate director will be responsible for database administration tasks for SQL Server and Oracle databases. Provide oversight and perform systems administration tasks, including user accounts administration, configuration, managing storage, performance and security monitoring, system upgrades, testing, troubleshooting, auditing, and archiving. Review, update, and create new interfaces between systems.


The Associate Director will keep abreast of new functionality, software releases, system patches of systems used in Student Affairs and inform end users. Will plan and implement system upgrades, executes test plans, and test new functionality. Will work with end users, vendors, and ITS to troubleshoot and resolve system issues. Will document test plans, system configurations, processes, and change management tasks. Will work with end users to make configuration changes, and system updates based on needs of the departments, and routine semester and fiscal/academic year changes.

The Associate Director will also supervise two Technical Systems Team Members and manage technical field support for departments within Student Affairs.


• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Information Systems or related academic discipline preferred
• At least 4-6 years of demonstrated experience in SQL scripting, PL/SQL, reporting tools, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience with database management software, such as SQL Server, Oracle, and MS Access.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with technical and functional users.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and activities.
• Experience with Higher Education systems, such as Ellucian Banner, RMS/Mercury, CS Gold, StarRez, and EMS.
• Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.
