About the Opportunity:

The D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University (Boston, Massachusetts) is seeking applications and nominations for the Joseph M. Golemme Professorship in the Accounting Group. The major responsibility of the chair holder is to develop initiatives that enhance the School’s national and international reputation through research, faculty development, and external outreach. Significant scholarly research and publication are required. 



D’Amore-McKim School of Business (DMSB) has been one of the fastest-rising business schools in the U.S. during the last decade, and it is today widely recognized for its commitment to research and experiential approach to education. We emphasize a strong research program that targets top-tier journals and a strong commitment to teaching excellence. Our areas of research focus include auditing, governance, tax, and managerial topics, using archival and experimental methods. Of particular interest is the impact of data analytics on the future of business and the accounting profession.  The Group emphasizes a combination of rigorous scholarship and collegiality to produce a stimulating and productive environment, and plans to continue to grow significantly in the near future.

The Group currently has 17 full-time, research active, tenured and tenure-track faculty, and 9 full-time non-tenure track faculty. Research support, including extensive subscriptions to relevant datasets, is excellent. Primary teaching responsibilities will include one or more of the following areas: data analytics, financial, managerial and tax, at the undergraduate and graduate levels.



Qualifications include:

  1. Doctorate in Accounting or a closely-related business field
  2. Currently a Full Professor whose work is focused on accounting
  3. Ongoing program of research related to accounting
  4. Outstanding National/International reputation for accomplishments in Accounting
  5. Outstanding record of research accomplishments with managerial impact
  6. Demonstrated evidence of effective teaching at various levels
  7. Established record of success working with junior faculty
  8. Verifiable background in institution building and program development
  9. Demonstrated leadership abilities
  10. Evidence of collegiality and collaboration in working with colleagues, administrators, students, the business community, and government agencies
