About the Opportunity:

The Biochemistry Program at Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts invites applications from qualified candidates for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position with the title of Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor in Biochemistry. This position has significant opportunity for career advancement. The Biochemistry Program is a highly interdisciplinary program that is jointly administered by the Departments of Biology and of Chemistry and Chemical Biology for nearly 400 majors and combined majors.


The primary responsibilities of this position are to teach multiple sections of courses for undergraduates, which may include Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, and Bioanalytical Chemistry as well as more specialized courses in the biological or chemical sciences, and to design and implement evidence-based revisions to assigned courses. Additional duties may involve coordination with other instructors, organization of laboratory curricula, and additional teaching and course development.


Applicants must have a Ph.D. in biochemistry or other closely related discipline prior to the start of the appointment, experience teaching undergraduate lecture courses, and excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.  Northeastern is committed to building a diverse faculty who are committed to teaching and working in a multicultural environment.  Candidates must have experience in, or a demonstrated commitment to, working with diverse student populations and/or in a culturally diverse work and educational environment. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in teaching physical and/or analytical methods in biochemistry is preferred.  Where appropriate, candidates are strongly encouraged to highlight prior experience working with members of underrepresented groups.
